Shoreditch bar Callooh Callay will be appealing to London’s retro party animals this weekend with the Super Freak – a whisky cocktail served in a glitzy mirror-ball vessel. This disco inferno of a drink is surprisingly served in sync with Burns Night – it’s on the menu as part of a London-wide celebration of Scotland’s favourite spirit: Scotch Whisky Weekend.
During Scotch Whisky Weekend (Wed Jan 23- Sun Jan 27), selected bars in London will serve up £6 scotch cocktails. This sparkly party-starter has Monkey Shoulder scotch, Smokey Monkey (a peated whisky in the Monkey Shoulder family), pear liqueur, pear juice and cardamom bitters in the mix.
In another smooth celebration move (that involves absolutely no haggis), Callooh Callay will also be putting on two evenings of disco drinks and disco anthems, on Wednesday 23 and Sunday 27. Burns, baby, Burns!
Callooh Callay is at 65 Rivington St, EC2A 3AY, where Super Freak will be on the menu for £6 during Scotch Whisky Weekend (from Wednesday January 23 until Sunday January 27), and with two Super Freak parties taking place from 6pm on Wed 23 and Sun 27.
