Put your money away! Here are the week’s best free events

WTFuture: Friday Late

Celebrate the launch of the V&A’s new exhibition ‘The Future Starts Here’ and spend your Friday evening travelling to infinity and beyond at this month’s Friday late. Be transported to the year 3000 (not much has changed but they live underwater) with live performances, installations, film screenings and debates. There’s even an ode to bitcoin. The V&A. Tube: South Kensington. Fri Jun 29, 6.30pm-10pm.

Hello Happy House

Forget happy hour – you’ll be cheery all day long at this Benefit Cosmetics pop-up. Instead of smashing G&Ts, you can wander round the immersive space, which features a glitter shower, bounce room and relaxation room. You’ll be all smiles in no time. The White Space. Tube: Leicester Square. Fri Jun 29-Sat Jun 30.

Free ice cream

As the weather heats up, Häagen-Dazs is giving out free cookies-and-cream ice cream to help you keep your cool. There will also be an ice-cream piñata to smash and you could even win the chance to play some of the biggest names in tennis. Ace! Bernie Spain Gardens. Tube: Waterloo. Thu Jun 28.

Drinks at Borough Wines & Beers

What’s better than one free cocktail? Loads of free cocktails, obvs. Borough Wines & Beers is celebrating one year since opening its Battersea branch by handing out free Birthday Bakewell gin tipples all week. Borough Wines & Beers. Imperial Wharf Overground. Until Fri Jun 29, 6pm-7pm.

Open Air Opera Screening

Don’t fancy spending a balmy evening in a sweaty theatre? The Royal Opera House is going alfresco with a screening of ‘La Bohème’ live from the ROH’s stage. Bring a cushion and a picnic – and get there early to nab a good spot. Trafalgar Square. Tube: Charing Cross. Tue Jun 26.

YouTube Music: In Residence

YT is celebrating all things music related at this event. Expect talks hosted by Annie Mac and Jamal Edwards, surprise gigs, a record shop and even a look at the state of London’s nightlife including a re-creation of iconic club Plastic People. 180 The Strand. Tube: Temple. Thu Jun 28-Sun Jul 1.
