It won’t have escaped London’s culture-loving public that something’s been missing for the past two years. Back in 2016, the Hayward Gallery closed its doors for refurbishment, and left us all with one less vital major art space to enjoy. But that longing and pain that you doubtlessly feel is soon to be replaced with fulfilment, joy and possibly arousal as the Hayward re-opens with a show of works by German photographer Andreas Gursky in January. But before then, we’ve just been sent these pictures of the refurbed gallery spaces and yowzer, they’re real nice. The purpose of the refurb was to get some natural light into the dark concrete spaces of the building, and if these images are anything to go by, they’ve aced it. Get excited for Gursky.
