Three things you won't want to miss in London this weekend

1. Dig through stalls packed with everything from vintage fabrics to old maps and kitchenalia at this weekend's Hackney Flea Market. Get your mitts on the retro clobber at Abney Public Hall on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Entry is free.

2. The Museum of London has teamed up with Hubbub and Pop Brixton to help Londoners reduce the amount of food they waste. Head to Taste Not Waste at Pop Brixton from 12noon on either Saturday or Sunday and the Smoke and Salt chefs will show you thrifty ways to rustle up tasty dishes with leftover food. Plus, it's free.

3. Warm your cockles around a fire pit, while the Green Man and his merry band of Greenwich folk singers bless the fruit trees. This is the Midnight Apothecary Wassail and it's all part of the traditional Twelfth Night celebrations at the Brunel Museum on Saturday at 6pm. Tickets start at £5.
