It’s a staple of the London experience. It’s beloved by locals and tourists. No, we’re not talking about getting an overpriced sandwich from Pret – it’s the iconic Kew Gardens.
From the September 8 to the December 29, adult ticket prices to the gardens are being slashed by more than half on Tuesdays to a very reasonable £10.
As London’s largest UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kew Gardens is an unmissable horticultural experience that brings in more than 2.5 million visitors a year. Adult tickets are usually £25, but this new discount aims to broaden accessibility to the famous spot.
The changing seasons means the leaves will be turning red across the Arboretum, which houses more than 11,000 trees. For an aerial autumnal view, take the Treetop Walkway, and keep an eye out for the largest tree at Kew, the chestnut-leaved oak.
The scheme coincides with the Henry Moore: Monumental Nature exhibition, which is the largest-ever outdoor exhibition of Moore’s work. From massive sculptures to smaller works, there are over 30 pieces on display.
And for families with young children, the Hey Duggee trail during October makes for a very cheap half-term activity. Including interactive challenges and a stamp trail, there’s enough to keep the kids busy while you take in the garden views.
Richard Deverell, Director of RBG Kew said: ‘I’m delighted that we’re able to offer £10 entry to Kew Gardens every Tuesday throughout this autumn, and I hope that this new concession will allow visitors to benefit from being out in nature and having access to our wonderful Gardens.’
The £10 tickets can be booked online or bought at the gate. At such a whopping discount, this deal makes a day out in London a whole lot cheaper.
