The worst part of any stag do is the ‘activity’ that no one really wants to do and kinda gets in the way of drinking. So if you must have one, why not combine the activity with a food, drinking and a dance floor? Bloomsbury Bowling has something for the competitive alphas, the functioning alcoholics, the dancers and the hungry members of the crew, all in one place.
Sometimes stag dos should be less of the paint and more of the ballin’. That’s why it’s well worth considering Camden’s Jazz Café for that big night. Friday night hosts their hip-hop and RnB night while Saturday’s Soul Power plays disco, soul, funk & rare groove. You can reserve an area on the mezzanine, so you can pretend you’re Sinatra when you arrive.
This mixed arts venue is a huge warehouse right near Tottenham Hale and has only been open a year or so. It’s open from 4pm ‘til late on the weekend and continually plays host to exciting DJs and live performers. And it has pizza.
If some of you like après ski but some of you prefer tropicana then you’re basically in luck as this is dance-bar is a perfect combination of the two. Give them a ring if you’re a large group to ensure you get in, but other than that there’s no shoe/trainer policy or entry fee, well-priced cocktails, and the vibe is all about good times.
Home to a carousel of top notch nights, the Bussey Building in Peckham is a stalwart of a good night out. Set over many levels, with a courtyard outside, the Bussey folk pride themselves on having no pretention and nice security. It’s open ‘til really late, and their music taste is diverse so maybe check the website to make sure it’s your bag.
