Maria João Pires plays Mozart

The Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich under David Zinman, with pianist Maria João Pires, performs Anders Hillborg's 'Cold Heat' (UK Premiere); Mozart's Piano Concerto No 27 in B flat, K595; and Beethoven's Symphony No 3 in E flat ('Eroica'). (Note: at 1pm, 5.45pm and 9.50pm there are Proms Plus events. At 1pm musicians of all abilities and instruments are invited to join a Mozart- and Beethoven-themed Family Orchestra and Chorus session at the Royal College of Music. At 5.45pm the cellist Matthew Barley becomes the third guest in the Royal College of Music's four-part series in which musicians from this year's Proms season introduce their favourite works of fiction and poetry.
