Mozart Clarinet Quintet

Michael Collins joins the Elias Quartet for one of the pinnacles of the clarinet repertoire, Mozart's delicate and thrillingly expressive Quintet which was premiered in Vienna at Christmas in 1789. For all its apparent serenity, the ceaselessly unwinding melody makes huge demands on the clarinettist. Followed by one of six string quartets, K428, written in homage to his mentor and close friend Joseph Haydn.
