The new season of 'In Celebration' events at The Fan Museum, Greenwich, opens with a gala evening featuring 'Of Joy and Sorrow Mixed', Adrian Drew's celebration of life and love, presenting words and music from the sixteenth and seventeenth century. The music of Dowland and his contemporaries is given by James Bowman (countertenor) and lutenist Dorothy Linell, with the poetry of Raleigh, Marlowe, and Shakespeare read by BBC announcer David Vickery. (Note: gala tickets include VIP entry to the Museum's latest exhibition and the post-show reception with the performers at 8.45pm.)
