Royal Philharmonic Orchestra: Shostakovich, Prokofiev and Jeajoon Ryu

The violinist Chloë Hanslip performs Prokofiev's ethereal Violin Concerto No 2 together with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Grzegorz Nowak. The bill also includes Shostakovich's 1954 piece, the bombastic 'Festive Overture' – a work which, many have suggested, secretly celebrates the death of Stalin the year before – and the London premiere of Jeajoon Ryu's 'Sinfonia da Requiem'.
