With this new commission for the cavernous Duveen Galleries, ‘The Robinson Institute’, filmmaker Patrick Keiller has created a perfect fit for Tate Britain. This is partly due to his incorporation of works drawn from Tate’s own collection (Turner, Paolozzi, Hepworth and Epstein among them), but also because of a successful expansion of his 2010 film ‘Robinson in Ruins’ – which pondered the impact of historical events on the English landscape, via a walking tour around Oxfordshire – into an ambitious installation.
