Run by the Realpubs team, this grey-fronted ‘pub & brasserie’ is a class act, with a restaurant cleverly interwoven behind and around the bar. Ales such as Sharp’s Doom Bar, Hogs Back Spring Ale and Fuller’s Chiswick complement Bitburger, Moretti, Sagres, Amstel, Heineken and two ciders (Aspall Suffolk and Symonds) atop a lovely circular zinc counter.
Tasteful but lived in, it echoes the style adopted elsewhere in the expansive space. Belgian favourites, plus Tiger, Peroni and Cruzcampo, come by the bottle; affordable cocktails (£7) and a long wine list complete the picture.
The all-day bar menu offers oysters at £2 each and snacks such as smoked salmon with soda bread. Tourists staying locally enjoy the view through the picture windows of passing London buses; some stop to admire the century-old shots of Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park. Mind your head when visiting the toilets.

Come here alot, friendly team, food great, the bar is lively and its a great spot for people watching on the terrace with a few glasses of wine...
The mitre is a great place to go and enjoy great food and wine, it's family orientated, the staff are friendly, good atmosphere.
Popped in whilst visiting family, great atmosphere, staff fantastic and helpful, great food and drink selection, worth a visit and an award!
Popped in for a couple of drinks and the manager was on duty. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. But when we came in today for a couple of drinks on our way to dinner, I had a very rude, sullen waitress/bar maid serve me. She almost threw my change at me. Never coming here again. This kind of rude rubbish service is so not acceptable.

I had Sunday lunch with a few friends in The Mitre a few weeks ago. We arrived at peak time so I understand they were very busy, however this is no excuse for what followed. On arrival everyone was very confused about where to seat us and a very rude waitress said 'all of our tables are reserved' which would have been fine but upon questioning they said we could sit at nearly any of the tables in the bar and order with the bar staff. So off we went to our table. We all went for roast dinners and ordered individually but at the same time at the bar. I was overcharged for my meal when paying but only noticed once the bar woman had run it through at which point she stated 'there was nothing she could do'... REALLY she had overcharged me... hardly my fault! Then our dinners came, one by one so i was sat with my meal for 10 mins before anyone elses came. I had to rudely start without out the rest of my party, eating as slowly as i could soo ate most of my meal cold (not the way to enjoy a roast). My meal although tasty was lacking gravy (a tiny sprinkling) and also apple sauce that was supposed to come out with the dish. As i asked for more of both i was told i would be charged, which is ridiculous! So i explained their error in giving me no apple sauce and 10mins later the apple sauce was plonked on the table next to me. Beyond this, i and most my fellow diners had completely finished our meal before one of our guests even saw her dinner. She waited around an hour!!!! when asking a waitress she said that 'we had ordered separately so should expect our dinners to come out at different times' - fairr enough if that's how they do it but no one should wait an hour for a roast dinner. We brought this to the attention of 2 more members of staff before finally her dinner was also rudely plonked down in front of her. I would never give these people my money again and felt like i had been robbed of a fairly expensive roast when leaving The Mitre. Such a shame as i had heard good things.
The menu is an aspirational, hopefully it (waitress asked whether we'd eaten it all and that's why she couldn't see it on the table). The rib starter was supposed to be two or three, turned out to be one, which had hardly any meat on the rib (I understand ribs aren't supposed to have lots of meat but this was taking the piss) and what was there was tough & inedible. Maitre d' said I could have them on the house, then came back to retract that and charge for one. Husband's Lancashire pie was watery and half baked. The staff were uninspired and uninterested in providing great service. We won't ever return for food.
