Sophisticated, discreet, a wonderful ambiance with a great look about it. Staff were incredibly helpful, even to accommodate for requests of food not on the menu. All round enjoyable evening, with delicious food and superb wine which went hand in hand with impeccable service. Highly recommended.
Just a disappointment and RIP Markham Inn that was formerly on the site. Revoltingly over-priced, new staff have been trained to be snobbish, food has shrunk while prices have been hiked by 50%. Dining area now too-formal felling, need to almost wear wedding clobber to not feel under-dressed by the heavy curtains. No joy here. By the way, the photo above was when it was the Markham Inn (red seating has been replaced by dark yellow even though now its called the Red House). Boo.
I'm pleased to be the first to leave a review about Red House! I went last night and had a great time, the restaurant was full of diners and the atmosphere was really fun. Great music, and the food was AMAZING! As fans of The Markham (RIP) I was eager to try out the new place. It's only been open for a few weeks, the décor is much lighter and the food is fresher and healthier. The staff were friendly, our waitress Erica didn't stop smiling! My boyfriend had the USDA American style burger and I opted for the sea food salad - MASSIVE PRAWNS! the burger was amazing, with a nice fat piece of bacon and smoky cheese - oozy and delicious! Definitely GO!
