Instead, think of what the people you love actually need. Have you thought about it? Yes, that’s right – they want to eat. And they want to eat good

Luckily, some of our favourite independent businesses in London and beyond offer up thoughtfully curated, genuinely great hampers for the festive season. We mean fun, creative hampers that people will actually want to receive, featuring products from some of your favourite brands. Here are the best hampers to order in 2025.

Best Christmas hampers in London

1. The Tinned Fish Market’s San Sebastian hamper

Buy it for: someone who watches tinned fish reviews on TikTok

Was it just us or did everyone we know go to San Sebastian this year? Well, if you weren’t lucky enough to see the Basque Country city for yourself, the Tinned Fish Market can bring it straight to you with this San Sebastian hamper – featuring such delights as Ramón Peña sardines, Pepus mussels in escabeche, and new fave tinned fish brand on the scene Carmelo, including their fabulous scallops in salsa. It’s not cheap, but you get your money’s worth: around 30 tins in total, each of them as beautifully packaged as the next. And it comes in a very nice little box too.

For quality edible pressies, you can't go wrong with Delli, the online food market stocking loads of interesting independent produce and limited edition goods from some of London's most hyped eateries. This Christmas box is a winner, featuring a bottle of Oatnog made by Hackney-based bottled cocktail brand Black Lines, sweet treats from Pump Street and Rococo, and some lovely cheeseboard accoutrements courtesy of north London restaurant Caravel, small-batch condiment company Miam Jars and Edinburgh-based biscuit makers The Drinks Bakery.

3. Fortnum and Mason’s Christmas at Piccadilly gift box

Buy it for: someone who lives outside of London

It wouldn’t be a Christmas hampers list without Fortnum’s, would it? And this Christmas at Piccadilly gift box is a particularly lovely offering from the hamper connoisseurs. This box is a beautifully curated selection of Christmassy treats (and not a tacky offering in sight) – Christmas coffee, Christmas tea bags, chocolate reindeer noses, a little gold bag of chocolate coins, and even everyone’s favourite offering, the musical biscuit tin. This is a really special little collection, and rather than the classic wicker basket, it comes in a bright red square box with an illustration of F&M’s mega Piccadilly Circus store. And a Fortnums hamper that comes in under £100? Winner.

5. Lina Stores’ La Pasta Hamper

Buy it for: your bestie with bare cupboards

Everyone’s favourite London pasta chain is back with another banging hamper collection this year – and there’s no better gift for, well, anyone but the gluten free amongst us. The La Pasta hamper includes three pastas – oriecchiette, rigatoni and linguine – in Lina Stores’ signature (rather cute) blue-and-white-striped packaging. Then there’s three delightful tomato sauces, including a chilli and a tuna and capers. To finish, jarred cime di rapa (as close as the Italians get to a fresh vegetable), and a delightful artichoke pesto, as well as that incredibly cute pale blue bag, just begging to be taken for a spin at your local delicatessen. They’ve got other hampers with alcohol too, but really we’re here for the pasta, aren’t we?

6. Himper’s Wake Up Call hamper

Buy it for: your man

Now here’s a fun new find. Himper is, you guessed it, a company dedicated to creating hampers for men, which launched at the end of last year. These boxes are genuinely tasteful, thoughtful creations, with themed boxes featuring products from indie sellers across the UK – from Cornwall Pasta Co to mini margs from Tiny Tee’s. There are plenty of options under £50, and a very fun build your own option (you just start with the box for a tenner). We particularly love the Wake-Up Call, featuring a cold brew coffee chocolate bar from Suffolk company Coco, dark chocolate-coated coffee beans from Joybox, fabulous coffee from Ràscal and best of all, a Topl portable coffee mug. We know you‘ve been planning to buy one for three years and we know you haven’t owned one since pre-Covid – thank us later.

Time Out tip: See something else you like? You can pick anything else you like from the site and they’ll add it right into the hamper for you.

7. Secret Smokehouse CanapĂ© box

Buy it for: your pal who loves hosting

If you’re not familiar with Secret Smokehouse’s game, it started from founder Max’s back garden at his home in Hackney – and now they’re the best in the business, smoking trout, kippers, haddock and salmon from their London Fields store. No fancy box for this one we’re afraid, but it’s not really that kind of hamper. But this Canapé box is the real deal, serving up 1.4kg of pure salmony goodness, including a gravlax-esque dilly mustard mayo, two tubs of salmon paté, two portions of hot smoked salmon and a whopping 400g of their classic D-cut London smoked salmon, which is thick, buttery and oh-so smokey. Use it for your Christmas party canapés, stick it in the freezer for Christmas morning or go at it immediately with your hands like some kind of animal – we don’t judge.

8. The Pickle House’s Bloody Mary box

Buy it for: the most hungover person in your life

Hampers are mostly expensive as hell, but if you’re after a £30 gift, this Bloody Mary gift set is the one. The Pickle House was founded in Hackney and now scaled up in Suffolk, and they sell a fabulous curated Bloody Mary hamper with everything you need to wack that festive hangover right out of the park. We’re talking a bottled Bloody Mary mix with Sapling vodka, pickle juice, horseradish and Worcester, pack of super-cute snacking pickles, a tub of Bloody Mary salt (smoked salt, celery, cayenne and lemon – it slaps), a dehydrated lemon slice for garnish and an embroidered coaster that says Bloody Mary on it, funnily enough.

Time Out tip: Got a £12 Secret Santa budget? The Pickle House’s Bloody Mary Festive Cracker is a perfectly cute gift and makes one fabulous Mary.

9. Panzers’ The Christmas Connoisseur

Buy it for: your family Christmas

There’s something about that Panzer’s logo on its branded, forest green box that is just chic. And what’s inside their Christmas Connoisseur hamper is even chicer: two delicious cheeses (a hard and a soft), with a whole box of crackers, thick-cut smoked salmon, a pannetone, chocolates and a fabulous cabernet sauvignon. It’s pretty much a Christmas starter pack, and if you want your entire immediate family to love you, get it sent in in time for Christmas day – you’ve got your breakfast, elevenses and your pudding here. And it’s Panzers, so you know every element will be the best of the best.

10. JosĂ© Pizarro’s Noche Buena hamper

Buy it for: your mum, if you want her to love you

Nothing says Christmas like eating an entire board of snacks before dinner every night. And with this Spanish snack collection named the Noche Buena hamper by José Pizarro (owner of restaurants Lolo, Pizarro, José Tapas Bar, Keeper’s House by José Pizarro at the RA and The Swan Inn Esher), you’ve got just the ticket. Find manchego, olives, incredibly rich Jamón, Membrillo quince and some incredibly cute festive crackers for an ultimate cheese board – with a Pizarro-branded cava to wash it all down with.

Time Out tip: Know any keen cooks? Pizarro’s Spanish paella kit comes with paella rice, seafood stock, a sofrito mix, spices and peppers – and the paella pan to cook it all in.
