Time Out says

If you're looking for an event to get you in the festive mood, then carols by candlelight at Fortnum & Mason represents the ultimate in Christmas magic. The acclaimed choristers of St Paul's Cathedral will be taking residence in the store's new Candle Room, singing a range of traditional carols from 7:30pm, while Fortnum's staff fill guests with warming mulled wine and tasty mince pies. The St Paul's choristers have a long history in providing the finest choral performances the city have to offer- with the earliest records of the choir dating back to 1127. The event offers a rare opportunity to hear the boys' talent completely for free, all within the atmospheric lighting of the Candle Room.

The location pays homage to William Fortnum, who was inspired to open the historic store with friend Hugh Mason after he sold candles to the ladies of the court. Nowadays, the Fortnum's candles are made from beeswax harvested from the store's four beehives located on the shop roof, rendering them a truly authentic London product. Christmas cheer and good feelings are guaranteed- even the most die-hard scrooge couldn't walk away from without feeling cheerier. Head downstairs afterwards, and you can even tick some names off your Christmas gift list. Make sure you don't miss out.
