Supporting small and independent producers, the heart of Southbank hosts more than 40 food producers and traders at its weekend market.  Promising the best of the London food scene, traders are carefully selected for their commitment to ethical, sustainable produce and sell everything from charcuterie and cheeses to fresh pasta, desserts and craft beers. Using a patch of land off the ever-busy Southbank in order to provide the biggest exposure for their vendors, the market also offers some palatable street food, perfect for Southbank’s many tourists, workers and locals alike.

Great market for when the sun is shining. When I went there was a stall selling 4 cookies for £5, and the lamb meat with chips and hummus was the best thing since slice bread. It gets really busy but that just adds to the atmosphere, although there's no tables or chairs, there are a set of stairs at the back which are great to chill out on to munch your food.

Good food from all over the world - my favourite being the fried Churros dipped in chocolate. Southbank also has some of the best sunset skylines around

So many times I have seen this market and been in too much of a rush, or had other plans or the weather has been a bit rubbish - but on Sunday the stars aligned and I had a fabulous vegan meal from Ethiopique. £7 for a plate of delicious, fresh, colourful salads and pulses, topped with a selection of vegetable stews and curries with a side of the delightful injera bread that I love. It was sooooooo good!
