Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg

Wagner's great celebration of song returns in Graham Vick's production. Starring Wolfgang Koch as the canny cobbler Hans Sachs, who helps naive singing contestant Walter (Simon O'Neill) to try and win the heart of Eva (Emma Bell), with an additional starry cast including John Tomlinson, Toby Spence, Peter Coleman-Wright. The conductor is Antonio Pappano. (Sung in German with English surtitles; running time 5 hours and 40 minutes.)
