Stella and her little brother Ryan love star-gazing so much, that one night Ryan extends their telescope all the way out and starts climbing up it. The intergalactic romp that follows is entertaining and educational; questions about the mechanics of gravity, the make-up of stars and the speed of light are all tackled amid copious sprinklings of music, audience interaction and slapstick.
Yet for some of the first half of this hourly show, it can all feel a bit too earnest. The second half more successfully comes to life as the characters swing and leap across the geodesic structure that makes up the set, dance, and raid the dressing up box to portray a series of eccentric outer space characters. This will certainly stimulate your kid’s brain, it just needs an extra boost of frivolity to tickle their funny bones too. Ages 4+.
