This beautiful Tooting site was once a Granada Cinema. It opened with a screening of ‘Monte Carlo’ in 1931, and went on to stage shows by Frank Sinatra and the Rolling Stones. Today, its art deco arches echo with the sound of hot slot machines and dabbing bingo players. It also happens to be Sadiq Khan’s favourite London building.
