Time Out says

Even in the hellscape that is 2020, Covent Garden’s cobbled piazza and market buildings will still be looking irresistible for winter. Another huge 60ft hand-picked Christmas tree has arrived and is sparkling across the Piazza and its adjoining streets. It took more than 300 hours to install all the decorations, but the final bauble was placed on the 1,500-tonne tree for the official lights switch-on this morning (Monday November 9). Once the giant Norwegian spruce has fulfilled its Christmas destiny, it will be ‘recycled’ (that means thrown in a wood chipper). But try not to think about that part, for now just enjoy the 115,000 festive lights that are festooned across the streets of Covent Garden.
