Digital Media and Political Activism Talk

Dr Joss Hands leads this discussion which takes a closer look at social networking and mobile computing as tools central to movements of political protest, rebellion and regime. The Director of the Research Centre in Media and Culture at Anglia Ruskin University will dissect whether the use of computer mediated communication really does succeed in increasing the capacity of activists to hold state and corporate power to account, and help build less oppressive systems.
