Freud and Eros: Love, Lust and Longing

Sigmund Freud had some pretty revolutionary ideas about love and libido; his theories remain an intruguing topic to this day. This exhibition brings together the neurologist's writings, letters and art collection as well as new pieces and commissions from contemporary artists in response to the subject of love. Eros is particularly well represented in the collection, and Freud's writings often focus on the Greek god's role. This is a rare chance to admire highlights from a collection of around 2,500 antiquities, which are normally arranged in the study at the Freud Museum, up close.
