Time Out says

The Hornsey Round Table, a fellowship of men from the area, are reviving the farcical tradition of Swearing on the Horns. In the seventeenth century, visitors to pubs in Highgate were made to kiss or salute a pair of horns and swear their dedication to debauchery. It was like a frat boy initiation ceremony and a bit of a laugh. On Friday August 2 it will take place once again, with a certificate for everyone 'sworn', a hog roast and yards of ale.

NB: This event is free, but all proceeds go to the London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy.
