Hiroshima Day

Join members of the Wimbledon Disarmament Coalition and Campaigners for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) in commemorating the sixty-eighth anniversary of the dropping of the world's first atomic bomb on Hiroshima in Japan. Everyone will meet at dusk on the shores of Rushmere Lake, Wimbledon Common, to float candles on the surface of the water, along with white flowers to remember the 200,000 victims and raise awareness of their campaign to outlaw weapons of mass destruction world wide.
