[title]It’s nearly that time of year again when the city’s famous New Year’s Eve firework display lights up the night as we say hello to 2024. As always the pyrotechnics will light up a series of iconic London landmarks, their sparkles reflected in the waters of the Thames.
The easiest way to enjoy the spectacle is to stay home and switch on the telly. But there’s an undoubted magic to see it all unfold above you in the frosty night sky. This year, 100,000 people will watch the display live, from allocated viewing points on Southbank. If you look sharp, you can be among them.
When do London firework tickets go on sale?
The first release of tickets will go onsale on November 3 at 12noon. Prices have increased this year. Tickets cost £20, and can be booked online via AXS tickets once they’re released. Last year the first batch sold out in just five hours. Why not pop a reminder in your calendar, to make sure you don't miss out?
If you do miss it, there’s also a second ticket release, including returns, that go on sale in early December.
What’s the best way to get to the fireworks?
If you’ve got a ticket, the viewing area will be along Southbank, near the London Eye. It’s a five minute walk from Waterloo tube station, but make sure to allow plenty of extra time to arrive as it’s bound to be busy. Embankment, Charing Cross and Westminster stations are also all within easy walking distance.
