Reckon conkers is a kids’ game? Think again! At Peckham Conker Club they take the playground favourite very seriously indeed. It isn’t all about smashing stuff up, however fun that might be. There are rules. There’s a scoring system. There’s even an annual tournament. Fancy yourself as the borough’s champion player? Find a chestnut tree, select your weapon and head down to the Brick Brewery Tap Room to ‘conker’ your opponents in a Battle Royale style tournament. Anything goes in this brutal contest, including ‘nut-pimping’ and ‘stampsies’ (you can brush up on the rules here!), with the winner taking home a coveted Golden Nut. It all sounds absolutely conkers.
