Pirates: The Captain Kidd Story

Advertising

Time Out says

An exhibition of artefacts and archaeological finds including maps, letters and illustrations, and interactive displays revealing London's links with piracy dating back to the seventeenth century, including the capital's history as a place of execution for pirates. The exhibition focuses on the infamous Scottish sailor William 'Captain' Kidd, who was tried for piracy and hanged at Wapping's Execution Dock. Objects on display include Kidd's last letter, containing the promise of hidden treasure, a real pirate flag, a first edition of Captain Johnson's 'History of the Pyrates', an eighteenth-century canon, and a Vivienne Westwood outfit from her 1981 'Pirates' collection.
