Stir-Up Sunday

Time Out says

The last Sunday before Advent, traditionally known as 'Stir-Up Sunday', is celebrated in a day of family events. Accompanied kids can join in preparations for Christmas, helping to pound sugar and spices and stir the ingredients for the plum pudding while learning about Xmas traditions and superstitions – such as why the pudding is stirred from east to west and why three spices are put into mince pies. The Victorian kitchens are decked with holly and ivy.
