The End of the World in 2012?

Dec 21 2012 marks an ending of the Mayan calendar and is asserted by some to mark the end of the world. The topic is examined from an astronomical point of view by Prof Jocelyn Bell Burnell, who gives the Michael Faraday Lecture on 'Science communication and science scares'. Doors open at 4.45pm and seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
