The Road to Kabul

Subtitled 'British Armies in Afghanistan, 1839-1919', this exhibition examines the history, legacies, debate and controversy surrounding Britain's military intervention in Afghanistan since the nineteenth century. Exhibits including a testimonial signed by British prisoners who were held hostage in the First Afghan War, Victoria Crosses awarded during the Second Afghan War and paintings of the current conflict by war artist Matthew Cook.
