The Library Restaurant
A two AA Rosette restaurant at the Rubens at The Palace hotel, close to Buckingham Palace. It's the hotel's fine dining restaurant and the setting suits – expect crisp linen, heavily embroidered fabrics, armchair seating and refined service. There's a British slant to a menu drawing influence from cuisines across the globe. That means Irish and Scottish smoked salmon with traditional accompaniments alongside fillet of beef rossini, tomato tarte tatin and a braised blade of beef with pancetta and horseradish mashed potato. Dover sole with parmentier potatoes and a chive lemon sauce is a speciality. The wine list is extensive, with a focus on the old world. It ranges from bottles in the £20-£30 region up to more extravagant options nearing four figures.
Venue says: “The Library is currently closed for refurbishment. Please join us in The Palace Lounge or Cavalry Bar for extensive menus.”
