Spring 2013, BBC2
From ‘An Angel at my Table’ to ‘Bright Star’ by way of ‘The Piano’, Jane Campion’s CV is astonishing. So small wonder that the BBC is excited about having tempted her back to television for a mini-series shot in remote New Zealand. Elisabeth ‘Peggy Olsen’ Moss plays a detective hunting for a missing, pregnant 12-year-old girl, while Holly Hunter has signed up as a local mystic. Peter Mullan, inevitably, plays a local drug lord, as well as the girl’s father. This could be the classiest TV drama of the year.
