Angelenos think they're 8s, and other LA dating insights

Hello, lovely Angelenos. A few weeks ago, we asked you to fill out our global dating survey to help give us a better idea of how folks find love in this giant city. The results are in, and we've learned a lot about you (and how you compare to the rest of the world). You can read a breakdown of the results from every participating city here, but we've pulled some LA-specific highlights for your reading/dating pleasure:

• —LA is the 9th best city in the world for dating, just below Sydney and above Tokyo. (New York ranks 7th, for those who like to compare.)
• —Angelenos, when asked to rate themselves as dates, responded on average as 8 out of 10.
• —More than half of Angelenos decide whether they want a second date within 2-3 minutes of the first date.
• —17% of LA women are looking for love in the film and entertainment industry, while 18% of men in LA want partners in the design and fashion industry.
• —59% of LA women will rule out a second date due to bad politics, and 59% of women will also nix dinner number two if their date doesn't resemble their profile picture.
