There is a lot going on in the world today and you might be feeling a little down. We can’t offer you much on the big stuff, but, for what it’s worth, here are some nice little things you can look forward to in the near future.

1. Avocado prices are falling after last month’s shortage.

2. That amazing Snow Day L.A. park starts making snow in Elysian Park on November 17.

3. New tiki bar Pacific Seas just opened up, so you can take an imaginary vacation.

4. The holidays are right around the corner.

5. You can go hide out in a beautiful library and read a book all day.

6. Funny women Bridget Everett and Maria Bamford are both in town this month to make us laugh.

7. Pershing Square’s ice skating rink opens tomorrow.

8. Highland Park’s Tinfoil Liquor & Grocery, a new deli-plus-speakeasy concept, is set to start serving very soon.

9. There are still a couple of weeks to check out the Guillermo Del Toro exhibit at LACMA if you haven’t made it over just yet.

10. Thanks to Prop 67, you can actually justify buying some more cute tote bags.

11. You could sleep in a treehouse tonight.

12. Tickets are still available to several of the Red Bull 30 Days in L.A. concerts going on across the city—and some shows are even free.

13. Los Angeles suffers no shortage of great spas if it’s time to book a relaxing treatment.

14. This weekend, the farmers' market will be filled with persimmons and pomegranates

15. If you haven’t yet watched this time-lapse video of our beautiful city, give yourself a six-minute visual treat.
