We love Los Angeles all year, but the summer concert season really heats things up. KCRW helps us take advantage of this every year with their Summer Nights series, and they've just released the schedule for this year's shows. These events take place all over town, often in some of the prettiest locations in the city like the Hammer Museum, Santa Monica Pier and Union Station.
For 2017, the series launches on June 3 at historic Pasadena spot One Colorado with Chico Mann & Captain Planet and DJ Marion Hodges. Some of the highlights include local favorites Chicano Batman, who will be playing in Pasadena as well on June 17. Rocking out to Warpaint for the Twilight Concert Series at Santa Monica Pier on August 17 sounds like the perfect girls' night out. And any of the happy hour events at the Hammer Museum are guaranteed to be a good time.
A new venue addition this year is the California African American Museum with a show featuring KCRW DJs Aaron Byrd and Garth Trinidad on August 19. According to KCRW, there will also be "food trucks, a beer garden, and after-hours museum access to all of their summer exhibitions, including the powerful No Justice, No Peace: LA 1992."
