Piano Bar, the Houston Brothers' first bar, is closing on Sunday

If you've been to a themed bar with a secret entrance in L.A., chances are that Jonnie and Mark Houston are behind it. The nightlife kings have given us the '70s-themed Good Times at Davey Wayne's, the '80s-themed Break Room 86, the Parisian Pour Vous and the rum-centric La Descarga, bars where you have to step through refrigerators or be summoned past a lady on a bed in order to enter.

But before all that was Piano Bar, a casual cocktail bar in Hollywood with no cover, no secret entrance and no dress code. The Houston Brothers' first bar opened in 2008, and has been a hotbed for talented musicians ever since—yes, there is a piano, but pretty much every instrument has been played at one point at this spot. Today, Piano Bar announced that they'll be closing for good on Sunday, and they'll be celebrating the last few days with performances galore. Here's the final schedule:

Thursday 9/22: West Coast Get Down, Kamasi Washington, Miles Mosely, Thundercat
Friday 9/23: Aaron Durr, The Flathead Roadsters
Saturday 9/24: Mikes Hayes, Boom Boom Boom
Sunday 9/25: Last hurrah! Surprise guest appearances, plus Austin Hanks 4-9pm, Deana Carter 9-10pm, Brother Sal and the Devil May Care 10pm-2am, and free BBQ until close

"Piano Bar is a special bar," says Jonnie. "Not only is it my and Mark’s first bar, but it’s been a home base and haven for local musicians and artists over the years. Our goal was to create an environment where musicians could connect with people; we’ve managed to create a Cheers-like vibe in the community. We’re proud to have supported so many great artists over the years."
