This holiday cocktail bar will make your boozy Christmas dreams come true

We’ll be perfectly honest and say most of our favorite holiday traditions revolve around booze. There are special drinks just for the season—obviously there’s egg nog, but you also have your wassail, your glögg and winter-spiced beers—and we all know those ugly sweaters only actually seem hilarious after a few trips to the holiday party punch bowl. Given all that, it makes perfect sense for a bar to go all out for the Christmas season. Westbound is doing just that.

Starting on December 1, the classy Arts District cocktail spot will transform itself into something they’re calling Miracle on Santa Fe, an over-the-top holiday bar experience. Every bit of space will be covered in decorations, twinkle lights, tinsel and other assorted seasonal flair. There will be a festive performance every night, including Victorian carolers, sugarplum dancers and more surprises to be announced.

Santa might stop by to drop off some boozy gifts and, if you’re very lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of fresh falling snow. That’s right. Snow. Falling inside a bar in L.A.

Obviously, you can’t drink your regular cocktail at a holiday theme bar, so Miracle on Santa Fe will have plenty of on-theme libations. Expect treats like the Snowball Old Fashioned, Jingle Ball Nog or Muletide, each taking a well-known cocktail and giving it a seasonal spin.

Several bars across the country have been going the ‘Miracle’ route in recent years. Miracle on Ninth Street in New York may have started the trend, which has also been spotted in Chicago and Washington, D.C. This year, the idea has finally reached L.A. and we can’t wait to get Blitzen-ed.
