Where to watch the Dodgers during the World Series in L.A.

Not all of us have the $3,000 required for an average seat to a 2017 World Series game—and if we do, we’re spending it elsewhere—and there are few who’ll be going to all seven games. That means Angelenos need someplace to root for the home team, a neighborhood bar with the game on the TV, the sound up and, ideally, pitchers upon pitchers of beer—and maybe a house-made Dodger Dog, for good luck. We’ve found L.A.’s best spots for watching the Dodgers take on the Astros, in our team’s first World Series since 1988.

Here are the bars where you should go blue or go home.

33 Taps Silver Lake

What’s got pitcher specials and walls of LCD screens? 33 Taps, and if you stop by the Silver Lake location, you’ll also spot a ton of Dodgers-themed decorations. All beers are available on pitcher special—prices vary—and because it’s also Taco Tuesday during Game One, snag some tacos for $2.95 apiece. Of course, if you’re over in Hollywood, there’s a 33 Taps out your way, too, for your viewing convenience, though you won’t find these specials there.

Arts District Brewing Co.

Good thing this brewhouse is spacious, because between the beer specials, the slew of sound-on TVs, the Fritzi Coop food and the arcade games, Arts District Brewing Co. is sure to be a popular pick for viewing parties. On game days, stop by for $5 beer specials beginning at 3pm so you can pre-game the game. You game?

Baldoria

Looking to watch in Little Tokyo? Head to Baldoria for an all-night happy hour every World Series game day. Plus—get ready—this restaurant and bar is also offering $1 shots of whiskey for every Dodgers home run. (Now we're really pulling for those homers.) Should the Dodgers win the World Series, Baldoria will pour a free champagne toast for all, so really, aside from Dodger Stadium, is there anywhere better to be?

Barney’s Beanery

No matter which outpost you choose, you’ll find the Dodgers on the screens at Barney’s Beanery, one of L.A. favorite spots to catch a game for more than 50 years. Whether you’re in Santa Monica, WeHo, Westwood, Pasadena, Burbank or Redondo Beach, you can snag beer specials for as little as $4.50, plus Dodger Dogs for $4. If you opt for the spot in West Hollywood—the originator—be sure to stay after Game One for a trivia tournament; ditto for Westwood’s outpost, which begins karaoke at 10pm tonight.

Brack Shop Tavern

Put the team on your literal back, and win big at Brack Shop Tavern: show up for any of the games while sporting Dodgers gear—be it a jersey, a hat or otherwise—and get a free appetizer for your table.

Citizen

Those on the Westside should head to Citizen, where this classy restaurant and bar is not only showing games but offering extended happy hour specials so fun it’ll almost feel like you're eating in the stadium. Look for house-made cracker jacks, house-made pretzels with cheese whiz and a gourmet spin on PB&J, among other fare specials, plus $7 draft beers, $9 cocktails and $14 tallboys of wine. There’s even a Dodger Blue cocktail, made with rum, Cointreau, citrus, Petite Canne Cane Syrup and Blue Majik for $10.

Dog Haus

Every Dog Haus location with TVs—meaning the Alhambra Biergarten, the Pasadena Biergarten and the spots in North Hollywood and at USC—will be offering the full happy hour menu from start to finish of every game. That means you can take in some Dodgers wins—wink—while enjoying $2 off draft beer and wine, $3 PBR tallboys, $2 off single mixed well drinks and $1.25 sliders, tots and fries. Hot dog.

Ever Bar

Not only will the new Everly Hotel’s bar and stylish lounge be hosting a game-day viewing party on a whopping 70-inch TV, Ever Bar is also conveniently only a five-minute walk from Metro’s Hollywood and Vine station, which means you can get loaded in Hollywood, then catch the Red Line to Union Station for the Dodger Stadium Express, and be right there for the revelry if there’s a big win. (This seems like a good time to remind everyone to take public transportation, hire a car or make sure you've got a D.D. in your party. OK, mom rant over.)

Mikkeller DTLA

Mikkeller DTLA’s breaking out the big guns, errr, the big screen: normally their 160-inch projection screen resides in the ceiling, but for the World Series, this Downtown craft-beer haven is lowering it, tuning in to the games and turning up the volume. (Sorry, quiet-loving neighbors.) Looking for specials? Of course you are! And Mikkeller’s got a great one: Normally you can catch their $15 burger-and-a-beer deal only a few days and hours of the week, but to celebrate the Dodgers, they’re now offering it through the entirety of the World Series.

Prank

Pro tip: You can watch the game both indoors and outdoors at Prank, where half of the patio still provides a clear view of the TVs inside. Stop by for the Turner-Taylor Triple Header, a $15 combo that includes Prank’s house-made take on the Dodger Dog, plus a can of beer and a shot. Looking to go blue? Try the My Blue Heaven cocktail, with blanco tequila, butterfly pea flowers, agave, fresh lime and a touch of Himalayan sea salt for $7.

Public School on Tap — DTLA

Public School 213—the Downtown outpost of the school-themed regional pub chain—just added an enormous projector to its main dining room, making it a perfect spot to watch the game from any angle. Don’t forget that the games fall smack dab in the bar’s happy hour, cheekily titled “Recess,” when you’ll find $5 well drinks, $5 house wines, discounted eats on items such as bacon-and cheddar tots, plus more specials, all from 3 to 7pm.

The Short Stop

Echo Park’s baseball-loving dive, the Short Stop, opened at 11am today in honor of tonight’s game, with a full lineup of fun including old-school music from 1 to 5pm, plus free pool and a late happy hour to complement the sound-on screening of tonight’s game. (Look for other specials as the series progresses.)

Sixth Street Tavern

Looking for another spot in DTLA? Sixth Street Tavern just so happens to house six big-screen TVs, plus a special “game day dog,” available tonight in vegan and non-vegan varieties, and it comes slathered with ketchup, mustard and relish, and served with a pint of Bagby Beer Co.’s Sweet Ride pilsner, all for $12. They’ve also got more than 20 beers on draft, plus some solid bar food. (See also: boozy milkshakes.)

Spring Street Bar

Or make your way a few blocks over to Spring Street Bar, with its 26 beers on tap, where you can catch the game and specials such as $5 Frito pie and $5 pints of Concrete Jungle Brewery’s Five O’Clock Somewhere pilsner.

This post originally stated Baldoria will pour champagne toasts for each Dodgers-won game; Baldoria will only pour a champagne toast if #ThisTeam wins the World Series. This post has been updated to reflect this.
