Amazon has rolled out one-hour alcohol delivery to its Prime Now service in Los Angeles. The online retailer has partnered with Valley booze chain Mission Wine & Spirits for beer, wine, spirits and mixers delivery across L.A.

The delivery service is available Monday through Saturday from 10am to 8pm—we suppose your liver needs at least a single day of rest. Available only to Amazon Prime members, the service offers one-hour delivery for $7.99 or delivery within a two-hour window for no additional charge, except for a small tip. While Amazon Prime Now has been rolled out across the county, availability can vary based on zip code.

We took a quick survey of the offerings and they're pretty fair. You'll probably still score a better deal with a trip to BevMo or Vons, but $12 for a six-pack of Lagunitas and $23 for a fifth of Jameson seems about right.

Amazon Prime Now isn't the only alcohol delivery service in the area; Saucey, Drizly and DoorDash have all launched similar services already. But considering that more than half of us are Amazon Prime members now, we have a feeling most of you will find this pretty enticing.

If you're not quite ready to recreate your favorite L.A. cocktail, Amazon has come up with a cocktail recipe just for the occasion.

Prime Now Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 1 part St. Germaine
  • 3 parts brut (or Prosecco)
  • 1 dash of Grenadine syrup
  • 3 raspberries

Directions:

  1. Pour a small amount of brut in a glass
  2. Add a splash of St. Germaine to the brut followed with a splash of Grenadine syrup. Let the Grenadine settle to the bottom of the glass
  3. Top it off with a garnish of fresh raspberries
