Thursday

We probably don't have to remind you, but it's Thanksgiving today. Either before dinner or after you've come down from your food coma, consider checking out some of the Thanksgiving events going on today, from turkey trots to laps around an ice skating rink.

Drift your way into the Convention Center for the LA Auto Show, one of the only non-Thanksgiving events going on today. Scope out sports cars and concept models that would even make 007 drool.

Friday

We swear we have a very good reason to send you across from the Americana on Black Friday: the Museum of Neon Art is opening its doorssort of. Starting today, MONA is inviting guests into its new Glendale home for a free sneak peek into its gift shop, neon-filled paseo and front lobby space, which is hosting an exhibition of neon clocks.

Afterwards, head to the other side of the river for the opening night (i.e. early bird pricing) of LA Zoo Lights. The new Griffith Park tradition bathes the Los Angeles Zoo grounds in twinkly string lights and animal-themed displays; most of the real animals will be sleeping, though you can visit a herd of reindeer.

Saturday

Make Saturday a museum day, starting with a trip to LACMA. Stop into the just-opened, campus-spanning Diana Thater: The Sympathetic Imagination, where the Los Angeles-based video artist has blanketed the gallery walls with nature scenes and Instagram-friendly projections.

Head across town and look out upon the twinkling lights of LA from Holidays at the Getty. The festively decorated Getty Center keeps its doors open until 9pm on Saturdays, and during the holidays you can sip on complimentary apple cider while scoping out the museum's current exhibits.

Sunday

If you're in need of a drink after a hectic holiday, down a few pints and don't worry about driving thanks to LA Beer Hop. This guided tasting takes beer lovers on a multi-stop tour of some of LA's best breweries. Today's trip starts at Union Station and covers three spots around Northeast LA.

You'll need to keep that buzz going if you plan on heading to the Hollywood Christmas Parade. The kitsch tradition sends floats, balloons, bands, equestrians and celebrities down the Walk of Fame.

Wrap up the long weekend at the Satellite for a set from Neil Hamburger. "America's Funnyman" slings some of the worst jokes imaginable—all part of a character from the recently buzzed about Gregg Turkington. Catch his monthly show with sets from Kumail Nanjiani, Melissa Villasenor and more.
