Friday

It's finally starting to feel like Halloween—probably because, you know, it's this weekend—so hide out from Jason atop of the Montálban Theatre on Vine as Rooftop Film Club presents Friday the 13th.

If you're not up for machete-wielding mayhem, pick up a proton pack instead as the Egyptian Theatre screens Ghostbusters in 70mm.

Afterwards, dip your toes into the devil's pool—of course that's how A Club Called Rhonda would describe their Halloween bash—as the polysexual crowd pleaser hits the Globe Theatre for Death Becomes Her.

Saturday

Choose between a pair of plays on Saturday: The Sound of Music finishes its run today at the Ahmanson Theatre with two performances of the reworked stage version. Meanwhile, Moby-Dick premieres at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion with a dramatic, operatic production of the classic Melville tale.

Embark on a happy hour tour of Downtown bars during ACME Crawloween. Each of the five bars is throwing an individually themed party—think pro-wrestling or '70s glam rock—with $5 drinks.

If you're not busy trick-or-treating, than you're probably looking for a Halloween party tonight. You'll find spooky soirees across the city, from the chaotic West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval to a "Thriller"-themed rooftop party.

Sunday

Keep your Halloween costume in tact for a trip to Stan Lee's Comikaze on Sunday. The Marvel icon hosts this comic expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center, where you can expect plenty of cosplayers.

Missed out on tickets for the opening of Rain Room? Not to worry, because today's most photogenic event might actually be the Self Help Graphics & Art Día de los Muertos Celebration. This Boyle Heights Day of the Dead event has been going on for over four decades, and includes ceremonial altars and an animated procession through the Eastside.

Close out your weekend with the final Hollywood Bowl event of the season as Danny Elfman performs Tim Burton's the Nightmare Before Christmas. The composer will step into the role of Jack Skellington—Elfman was the singing voice in the film—backed by a full orchestra and choir.
