Friday

Kick off the long weekend with a set from Long Beach surf rockers Tijuana Panthers. The trio will be bringing their party-ready tunes to the Regent Theater tonight, and tickets are under $15.

If you're up for a drive to Pomona, celebrate your love of all things deep-fried during the opening night of the LA County Fair. In addition to the gut-busting food, you can scope out exhibits dedicated to robots and race cars or a soulful concert from Patti LaBelle and Chaka Khan.

A little bit closer to home, the 626 Night Market returns to Santa Anita Park. Feast on Asian street food from over 150 vendors which will be steaming, frying and roasting up delectable bites alongside tents for merch, crafts, music and games.

Saturday

Head to the LA River on Saturday for Off Tha' Hook, Friends of the LA River's annual fish derby. You can reel in a fish for free without a license today, but if you're willing to fork over $50 you can enter FoLAR's catch and release competition, with categories for weight and rarest species.

Choose between a pair of comedy shows for the evening. At UCB Sunset, Matt Besser hosts the Greatest Concert Ever. Watch UCB regulars like Paul Rust and James Adomian live out their rockstar fantasies as they impersonate their favorite singers.

On the other side of Hollywood, NerdMelt hosts another installment of the Best Friends Show. You know how you're particularly hilarious around your friends? That's the theory behind this comedy show, where two BFFs tell a story together; tonight's lineup includes Rhea Butcher and Cameron Esposito, one of our favorite comedians.

In the mood for a movie instead? Grab a seat for one of the final weekends of outdoor movie season, with screenings of Fight Club, Rocky Horror Picture Show, 10 Things I Hate About You and more.

Afterwards, make your way Downtown for some after-hours shopping at Into the Dark. This late-night, New Agey bazaar is taking over Art Share LA for a free-spirited evening of runway shows, live body painting, fortune telling and fire dancing.

Sunday

Start your morning with a feast from some of the city's best chefs during the Sunday Brunch & BBQ at the Taste. Noelle Carter and Amy Scattergood of the LA Times host a cookout helmed by the likes of Canelé's Corina Weibel, Kogi BBQ's Roy Choi, Barrel and Ashes' Michael Kahikina and more.

Feel like dressing up (and by dressing up we mean cosplaying)? Make your way to the Pacific Media Expo, a celebration of all things Japanese, from new anime series to horrifying film exports.

If you'd rather dress down, hang out poolside for another installment of Rhondesia. The creators of A Club Called Rhonda are taking over SkyBar for an anything-goes pool party where top-notch talent and daring dress collide.

Monday

You hardworking Angelenos have earned a day off, so go ahead and relax on Monday. It's Labor Day—as if you needed any reminder of a three-day weekend—so things are pretty quiet around town. That said, there are still plenty of Labor Day weekend events that just might peel us off the couch, particularly the one below.

Nothing says summer (or end-of-summer, in this case) like meat on a grill, so sink into a Labor Day BBQ at Terrine. Savor an all-you-can-eat feast of pickle brine fried chicken, classic mac 'n cheese, swordfish brochettes, crispy potato tacos and more, all served up on one of LA's finest outdoor patios.
