Dust off your poodle skirts and leather jackets for a screening of the 1978 classic 'Grease.'

Are you ready for a night of nostalgia? Santa Monica Pier is kicking off the new year with a free drive-in movie event featuring none other than the all-time classic movie Grease. Vintage 'fits and cars, an iconic soundtrack and an ocean setting? This is one movie night you won't want to miss. And yes, it really is free.
The 1978 movie musical will roll onto the big screen on Thursday, January 15, as part of the Santa Monica Pier's ongoing "Locals Night" series—a monthly program held on the third Thursday of each month from September to May. The announcement came via the Pier's official Instagram, with a simple save the date message that's got locals dusting off their poodle skirts and leather jackets. Between the drive-in format and the soundtrack that everyone knows by heart, Grease is a perfect fit for this latest edition of the series.
