The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to break tradition with a historic "trilogy" of opening ceremonies across North America next month. For the first time in the tournament's history, each host nation—Mexico, Canada and the United States—will host its own grand celebration to reflect its unique cultural identity.

Mexico City is set to kick things off on June 11 and Toronto follows on June 12. Then, all eyes will turn to the entertainment capital of the world for a star-studded finale in Los Angeles. On Friday, June 12, L.A. will welcome the world to SoFi Stadium for a high-energy spectacle starting at 4:30pm local time, 90 minutes before the United States takes on Paraguay. Produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio, the ceremony aims to blend large-scale visuals and immersive storytelling to capture the creative energy and ambition of the U.S.

FIFA has unveiled a powerhouse roster for the L.A. event, featuring global icons that represent a cross-section of modern music: Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla will headline the event.

“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”

Attendees will play an active role in the ceremony, which is designed to be an interactive experience. The gates will open four hours before kickoff, with plenty of activations and live, pre-match programming.

Tickets and hospitality packages remain available via FIFA’s official channels. Aside from the World Cup matches in L.A., the city will be hosting huge watch parties for those without tickets, so make your plans now and get ready for the excitement.
