He’s living the high life to promote a new Netflix thriller

A new billboard on Sunset Boulevard has been grabbing more attention that the typical giant advertisement. It looks like a house, and yes, that's an actual human wearing a bathrobe, eating cereal inside the billboard. This isn't the latest tiny house trend; it's an innovative publicity stunt that's definitely doing its job.
To market its new sci-fi thriller The Last House, Netflix decided standard posters wouldn't do the trick. Instead, they built a fully furnished, air-conditioned living room roughly 30 feet above the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Selma Avenue, moving an actual human performer inside for three full days.

The Netflix movie—starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura—asks a terrifying question: How long could you survive if you were trapped inside your own home with quickly-depleting resources?
But while the movie’s family is fighting for survival against an ominous threat, our billboard protagonist is living a surprisingly enviable life. Equipped with a bay window, a comfortable couch and a pair of binoculars, he’s spending his weekend taking in the sights, communicating with bewildered commuters via a dry-erase whiteboard, and enjoying sweet, sweet air conditioning while the rest of Southern California melts in a brutal heatwave. In a city where a studio apartment costs a fortune, a rent-free loft suspended over Hollywood traffic doesn't sound half bad.
Sure, L.A. drivers are used to seeing strange things—from celebrity lookalikes to movie-promotional stunts—but watching a man casually lounge in a suspended living room brings "home-bound thriller" to an entirely new level.
He'll be up there through Saturday, so if you find yourself bumper-to-bumper on Sunset this weekend, look up and give a wave to Hollywood’s highest tenant.
