Artists and Performers Celebrate the Arts of Native California and the Great Basin
Advertising
Time Out says
Stop by the august downtown museum for some seriously beautiful work by Native artists, singers and dancers representing Native California and the Great Basin. Kids can watch the Cahuilla Bird Singers perform the Southern California tradition of bird singing—wherein men sing with rattles while women perform a dance of stepping and hopping—throughout the afternoon. Also on hand will be various artists, from basketweavers and beadworkers to jewelry makers and wood carvers, demonstrating their life's work. Their dedication to their respective crafts is sure to be an inspiration to mini culture lovers. All ages.
