The second YPC of the season looks at the "Composer's Toolkit," and how a song comes alive. It's a concert geared for the attention spans of children, a one-hour performance with jokes and skits and gorgeous music—after all, that's the NY Philharmonic on stage led by hotshot conductor Jap van Zweden. The orchestra will perform Beethoven's Symphony NO. 2, and the 12-year-old Paloma Alonso's "Sweating Bullets" (she's a part of the Very Young Composers program). Arrive early for the YPC Overtures, when you can meet the musicians and the little ones can try their hands at playing the instruments. Ages 6 and up.
