Materials Day

During this all-day outdoor craft workshop in Williamsburg, kids will discover that art can be made from pretty much anything—all you need is a little creativity! Educators who use the Reggio Emilia philosophy, detailed in "The Wonder of Learning" exhibition on display at Williamsburg Northside School (299 N 7th St), will lead art projects using recycled objects and natural items. Kids will help create a collaborative plastic bottle camp mandala, crawl through a cardboard city, add to a colorful weaving, make found-object costumes, hang objects in an installation. Bash The Trash, Eric Farber and The Easy Rollers will provide live tunes throughout the day. Festivities will take place on N 7th St between Havemeyer St and Meeker Ave. All ages.
