Oshogatsu: New Year’s Celebration at the Japan Society

Ring in the Lunar New Year with this exciting family event at Japan Society. Kids will be mesmerized by lively taiko drumming and lion dancing (shishi-mai); they'll even get the chance to join the fun during a practice session. Other activities include calligraphy lessons (kakizome), kite-making workshops (takoage), making New Year’s cards (nengajō) and rice pounding, a traditional Japanese New Year activity that results in tasty mochi.
