Calling all cheeseheads: It’s time to gird your curds, grab some Lactaid and head to Queens for some gooey goodness.

On Saturday, December 10, more than 15 cheese makers and mongers will set up shop at Flushing Town Hall (137-35 Northern Blvd, Queens) for the second annual Great Northeast Cheese and Dairy Fest. For one day only, turophiles (that’s the official term for cheese lovers, FYI) will be able to sample more than 75 artisanal varieties by a range of makers spanning the northeast from Vermont’s cheese trail to Brooklyn’s own Crown Finish Caves.

Other local talent on tap includes chefs Will Horowitz of Harry & Ida’s and Alfonso Zhicay of Queens’s own Casa del Chef Bistro, plus Humberto Guallpa of Chinese-Cuban restaurant Calle Dão and Brian Hayford of sister restaurant, Favela Cubana—all of whom will be plating dairy-centric dishes that are anything but cheesy. One of the early highlights includes a decadent plate from Hugue Dufour of M. Wells Steakhouse: pommes aligot, an atery-clogging combo of mashed potatoes and cheddar curds.

Along with holiday cheese plating tips from industry experts, each $60 ticket includes unlimited samples, plus beer, wine and cider pairings to wash it all down.

The Great Northeast Cheese and Diary Fest, Flushing Town Hall, 137-35 Northern Blvd, Queens. Dec 10 6pm–9pm. $60
